Privacy Policy
Overview
tack ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website, Chrome extension, Mac browser app, iPhone app, accounts, and paid plans at tack.design. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle when you use tack and how it is used.
By using tack, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Process
When you use tack, we process the information needed to run the product, authenticate your account, and save your usage history when that feature is enabled.
- Account information — if you create an account, we process your email address, account identifier, authentication provider, and plan status. Authentication credentials are handled by Supabase and, when selected, Google or Apple; tack does not receive your Google or Apple password.
- Reference image data — when you open the extension on a page, tack reads image URLs and basic image metadata in your browser so you can choose references. tack is designed to work on visual inspiration sites across the web, including tack.design, inspiration boards, portfolios, marketplaces, image searches, social media pages, profiles, and other standard webpages with selectable images, though some sites may block scanning or hide images in ways Chrome extensions cannot access. If you are signed in to another site, tack may be able to show images that your browser is allowed to view in that logged-in session. The image URLs and related image content you select are processed so tack can analyze the shared visual style.
- Your prompt — the subject or request you type is processed to generate new images in the selected style.
- Local page context — the current page URL, bookmarks, browsing history, website cookies, and workspace state may be stored locally on your device so tack can restore your tabs, keep you signed in to sites, and support image selection. Website sign-in data is kept in the app's WebKit browser storage and is not synced to your Tack account.
- Generated images and history — if you are signed in, generated images and related metadata may be stored so they can appear in your history across devices.
- Product analytics — we may process basic product events, such as scans, generations, plan state, and feature usage, to understand whether tack is working and improve the product. We do not use advertising trackers to profile your browsing.
- Billing information — web and supported desktop purchases are processed by Stripe. iPhone purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We process subscription product, status, expiration, and transaction identifiers so your entitlement can work across Tack, but we do not receive or store full payment card details.
We keep only the information needed to operate the service, support your account, enforce plan limits, improve reliability, and provide features like saved history and billing management. tack does not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Content You Choose
tack does not bypass paywalls, privacy settings, login requirements, or technical restrictions set by other websites. It works with pages and images that are already visible to you in your browser, and you decide which references to select for analysis.
You are responsible for making sure you have the rights, permissions, and authority needed to use the images, pages, prompts, and other content you submit to tack. Please do not use tack to process private, confidential, or sensitive content unless you are allowed to do so and are comfortable having that selected content processed by tack and the third-party services described below.
Third-Party Services
tack is built on third-party AI and hosting services. Your inputs are sent to these providers to generate results:
- Anthropic — used for style analysis and prompt construction. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- Replicate and/or third-party model infrastructure providers — used to generate images from the prepared prompt and style direction. Replicate Privacy Policy
- Supabase — used for authentication, account data, and saved history. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Stripe — used for checkout, subscriptions, and billing portal access. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Apple — used for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, and subscription management on iPhone. Apple Privacy Policy
- Google — used when you choose Continue with Google for account authentication. Google Privacy Policy
- Vercel — hosts this website and its serverless functions. Vercel may log standard request metadata such as IP address and timestamp. Vercel Privacy Policy
Cookies & Tracking
tack does not use advertising trackers on the marketing site. We use first-party browser storage to assign a random visitor identifier and record page paths, referral domains, campaign parameters, and clicks to primary calls to action. This helps us measure aggregate site usage and product acquisition without collecting the contents of pages you browse elsewhere. We may also use essential browser storage or authentication state to keep you signed in and provide account features. Third-party services we use, such as Stripe or Supabase, may use technically necessary cookies or storage while providing their services.
Your Rights
You may request access to the personal information associated with your account, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account data. Depending on where you live, you may also have additional privacy rights under applicable law.
You can delete your Tack account from Manage account in the iPhone app or from Account settings on tack.design. You may also contact us at patrick@tack.design. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests, and we may retain limited information where required for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons. Deleting a Tack account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed by Apple; Apple subscriptions must be canceled in Apple subscription settings.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information we handle. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work to keep the amount of data we process limited and appropriate for the product.
Data Retention
We retain account information, saved generations, boards, prompts, billing-related records, and related service metadata for as long as needed to operate tack, maintain your account, provide saved history and board features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify information we no longer need to keep, subject to any legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, or operational retention requirements.
Children's Privacy
tack is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Business Transfers
If tack is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, asset sale, or similar transaction, information covered by this policy may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and material changes may also be communicated through the website, product interface, or email where appropriate. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
